If you’re a nerd to the core, here are some authentically geeky ways to get hitched

Check out these amazing themes-- perfect for the nerdiest couple you know!

The nerds are taking over. From comic book heroes consistently conquering the box office to masses of people proclaiming themselves as "adorkable," "geek chic," and other nerd-hybrid adjectives, it is officially hip to be a square. You might not know exactly what a TARDIS is or all the cheat codes for classic NES games, but references to those and other nerdy items are penetrating pop culture. But for those who are truly into the nerdy culture, the ones that can quote Star Wars verbatim and can tell you the lineage of each Pokemon, being a nerd isn’t a fad. It is a way of life. And if those folks are lucky to have met a like-minded individual, it's natural to debunk the typical wedding and bring their geeky side into their big day.

The trend of eschewing the traditional wedding template isn’t exactly new, but a number of couples are creating fun and refreshing weddings with the neo-nerd movement. If you’re looking for inspiration to make your special day unique, you can find all kinds of ideas from other couple’s nerdy nuptials. And don't worry, you don’t need to be a full-blown Dungeon Master to incorporate aspects of your nerdy passions into your wedding.

We voyaged to the nerdiest place around, the Internet, to find wonderful examples of geeky grooms and binary brides. From the absolute extreme (cosplay with vows exchanged in Klingon) to the incorporation of kitschy accents into the event, there are a number of ways to make sure your nerd passion get its proper nod on the happiest day of your life. And of course, it’s not all about the aesthetics. The only thing better than costume themes and accessories is nerd-based food. What’s the point of getting decked out in nerd attire without an accompanying themed feast?

So whether or not you know the difference between a Cylon and a Dalek, there’s no need to travel through space or time looking for nerdy wedding themes to draw inspiration from. Take a look at our top 10 list of the best geeky weddings so you can boldly take your wedding where no wedding has gone before.

Star Wars Honeymoon

Spend your honeymoon in a galaxy far far away. In the largest expansion in Disney parks history, new Star Wars-themed lands are coming to both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. And there&rsquos a Star Wars-themed hotel in the works for Walt Disney World. "From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story!" said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. If you can&rsquot wait until 2019, Disney&rsquos Hollywood Studios already has several attractions and special character weekends in May.

Game of Thrones Honeymoon

Game of Thrones has filmed all over Europe, from Iceland to Spain, but you can knock out a lot of spots in Northern Ireland such as Bregagh Road or as the locals call it, the Dark Hedges. If you have time to hop around on your honeymoon, check out our favorite filming locations.

Comic Con Honeymoon

Comic-Con has become so much more than comics. There&rsquos no celebration of pop culture and pure fandom like it, from anime to sci-fi to new Cartoon Network shows. If a honeymoon isn&rsquot enough, go all out and tie the knot in your favorite cosplay outfit. The 2017 festival included a pop-up Geek Love Chapel officiated by American Gods star Orlando Jones.

Doctor Who Honeymoon

Even though the Doctor Who pop-up exhibit closed in Cardiff, London still has plenty Doctor Who sites to see from film locations to The Who Shop for collectibles to a traveling TARDIS. Visit London says to keep an eye out around Earl&rsquos Court Station.

Harry Potter Honeymoon

If you want a magical honeymoon, head to London. First stop: the Warner Bros. studio tour. You can easily spend an entire day looking at props, sets and wizard costumes from the blockbuster movies. It&rsquos also one of the few places in the world, like Universal&rsquos Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where you can drink authentic Butter Beer. If you have time, take the train from King&rsquos Cross Station to Edinburgh, Scotland and pay homage to The Elephant House. It's the cafe where JK Rowling started it all.

Sherlock Honeymoon

Whether you&rsquore a fan of the books, the movies or BBC&rsquos Sherlock series, London&rsquos Marylebone neighborhood is where to stay for all things Sherlock Holmes. Head to, yes, 221b Baker Street for the official Sherlock Holmes Museum and don&rsquot miss the Baker Street subway station. It&rsquos decked out with Sherlock Holmes tiles.

Twilight Honeymoon

While the town featured in Stephenie Meyer&rsquos best sellers is Forks, Washington, most of the Pacific Northwest shots in the movies were filmed in Oregon. Take a road trip and explore popular sites such as Multnomah Falls, Cannon Beach and Oxbow Regional Park for the forest area where Bella tells Edward she knows what he is.

Twin Peaks Honeymoon

True Peaks Freaks should head to Snoqualmie, Washington for the real Twin Peaks experience, including The Great Northern Lodge with Snoqualmie Falls below. Though in real life, it&rsquos called the Salish Lodge and Spa. Ask to stay in room 315. Check out more Twin Peaks locations here.

Disney Honeymoon

If you&rsquore a mega Disnerd, you probably already know your way around Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Maybe you&rsquore even having your wedding ceremony in the parks! So for your honeymoon, try something different and cruise with Mickey. I was recently invited by Disney Cruise Line to experience the Disney Magic. From surprise character greetings to Broadway-style shows to fireworks in the middle of the ocean, there really is a Disney difference.

Lord of the Rings Honeymoon

Road trip around New Zealand to see why filmmaker Peter Jackson chose the country to represent Middle Earth. You can visit The Shire in Matamata and walk through original sets from the films at Hobbiton Movie Set Tours. For more Tolkien tourism, check out our favorite Lord of the Rings film locations.

24 Unique Ideas for the Groom's Cake

The groom's cake tradition actually dates back to the Victorian era, but it wasn't for eating back then. Single women would take home boxed slices and sleep with them under their pillows, wishing and hoping that they'd be the next to marry. The custom of the groom's cake has clearly evolved since then&mdashbut they're still very much a traditional part of the reception.

Today, these cakes are all about the man of the hour. While a couple's wedding cake is usually a continuation of their big day's theme or aesthetic, the groom's cake is an entity all of its own. Designed with only the groom (and his broad interests) in mind, these confections are nods to his favorite things. Is he a die-hard sports fan? A cake made in the likeness of the stadium he's been visiting since he was a boy will blow him away&mdashyou might even see a nostalgic tear. If he's an avid weekend fly fisher, present him with a dessert shaped like fisherman's kit, complete with an edible version of his go-to fishing rod.

Some have come to equate groom's cakes with cutting cakes (usually of the chocolate variety), but we're all for the inventive treats that signify his hobbies, interests, and passions. So much of the wedding has been about you, and there's a good chance your guy let you take the reins with the majority of the planning. Give him something that's his and his alone that's also inspired by the things you love most about him. Click through to discover amazing groom's cakes from real weddings&mdashthey just might spark an idea.

If this superhero nursery has a secret power, it’s the power to accessorize!

Designed by photographer Maggie Russo and featured on The Wise Baby, this sweet and simple space sets bright and colorful superhero accessories against a clean and gender-neutral aqua, creating a comic book-inspired look that’s far from over-the-top.

Write your article (you can take any post from this blog as a basis) with links and add it to my article directory. You have a link to the directory, I will not indicate it here again, because it makes no sense.
